Our Mission

On the morning of Friday, September 27th, 2024, residents of the Blue Ridge Mountains woke to an unprecedented level of destruction caused by Hurricane Helene. From the rubble of the storm's warpath, the Appalachian Rebuild Project was born. Our mission is to restore our region by coordinating volunteer efforts with local boots-on-the-ground information.

Our
Projects

ARP began as a localized volunteer effort within the impacted region that our founders call home.  With capable hands and caring hearts, the organization formed to support our neighbors facing extreme damages from the storm. By delivering supplies, assisting in removal of flood damaged debris, and repairing homes and community buildings that suffered loss, ARP established a reputation for serving our community. Our organization has since has grown into a construction liaison built to serve those facing major property damages caused by Helene. ARP receives cases from the Long Term Recovery Groups established within Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey Counties, and works alongside these organizations to meet the needs of residents in need of major repairs.
